FAQs

What documents can be notarized online?

Many personal and business documents can be notarized through Remote Online Notarization (RON) when permitted by law. Eligibility depends on the type of document and applicable legal requirements. If you’re unsure whether your document qualifies, contact us before scheduling, and we’ll be happy to help determine the appropriate option.

Why was my online identity verification declined?

A declined identity verification doesn’t always mean you cannot use Remote Online Notarization.

Automated identity verification systems rely on U.S. data sources. Verification may be unsuccessful if you are an international signer, recently moved to the United States, have a foreign passport, do not have a Social Security Number, or have limited U.S. credit or residential history.

Legal Vista Solutions can review your situation and determine whether Nevada Remote Online Notarization is still available using an alternative identity verification method that complies with Nevada law. If you have concerns about your eligibility, we recommend contacting us before scheduling your appointment.

What’s the difference between an apostille and document authentication?

Both processes help prepare documents for use in another country, but they are not the same. An apostille is generally used for countries that participate in the Hague Apostille Convention, while document authentication is used for countries that require a different certification process. The correct option depends on where your documents will be used.

How do I know which document service I need?

Many clients contact us without knowing whether they need notarization, an apostille, document authentication, or another document service - and that’s completely normal. Tell us about your documents, where they will be used, and any deadlines you have. We’ll help identify the most appropriate service and explain the next steps before you book.
